Abstract: Mobility is one of the key aspects in the Smart City settings, where the demand for the reliable, real-time and easy to use travel information, eco-friendly modes, and urban planning is continuously increasing. Multi / Inter-Modal Information Services and Systems answer this challenge optimising and connecting different networks and autonomous solutions. In SmartCampus we instantiate this vision through SmartPlanner engine, an open source information system that provides multi-modal transportation planning and real-time mobility data, obtained from the service providers and generated by the community of users. The engine is built on top of the OpenTripPlanner project, enhancing its basic functionality with the real-time information and customizing the planning flows. In this talk we present the engine functionality and how it has been instantiated at the level of province of Trento, providing insights into the challenges we have been facing and the obtained experience.
